A cutting-edge, public performance in which the town takes centre stage, 'The Invisible Opera' brings the arena most effective of its first faraway edition to SIFA 2021. Set in a bustling square of a town centre, 'The Invisible Opera' invites a solo observer to witness what to peer and do now not see in our public environment. Unfolding as a hypnotic statement of the sounds and styles of ordinary life, 'The Invisible Opera' steadily ends in see the town – and our position within it – in a very new light. Created via Australian multidisciplinary performer Sophia Brous, with award-winning overall performance-makers Lara Thoms, Samara Hersch and US choreographer Faye Driscoll, 'The Invisible Opera' provides the primary iteration of its far flung version, in its global ultimate at SIFA 2021. Performed entirely remotely as a live theatrical stumble upon, 'The Invisible Opera' functions immersive sound design, electroacoustic orchestration and stay vocal performance. The performance might be beamed in from Australia via a community of CCTV cameras and hidden microphones that map every movement of the square in real-time. It follows a live libretto sung by means of a mellifluous security digicam, describing each of the movements, objects and reports going on in a metropolis rectangular in real-time.
