The Sistine Chapel (Cappella Sistina) regarded as Michelangelo’s masterpiece is a stunning attraction. The Sistine Chapel is probably the greatest treasure of the Vatican City, of Rome and of the world by and large. It is known as much for its embellishment, as for being the sanctuary wherein popes are chosen and delegated. The construction of the structure was completed somewhere in the range of 1473 and 1481 during the command of Pope Sixtus IV, to whom it owes its present name. The draftsman responsible for the construction was Giovanni of Dolci and it is the main work that he is associated with.
