If you want to go for a beachfront craziness, there's no place better to do it than the Sierra Helada nature reserve, which is extended across the mountains and cliffs around Benidorm. Quite possibly the most wonderful nature attractions of Benidorm is the picturesque Siera Helada Natural Park. With the cliffs more than 400 meters high, this climbing territory has the highest cliffs on the east coast of Spain. The best method to start the coastal climb is from the cross of Benidorm. The visit starts very steep, yet you will be compensated with a superb landscape and a spectacular view. There are several hikes, suitable for all abilities, so get some outing goodies and head uphill for some tremendous views. The Sierra Helada (Serra Gelada in Valencian) provides the ideal retreat from the summer crowds. There are very much signposted climbing trails, including a stunning precipice walk and another that leads to the Benidorm Cross at the highest point of the mountain. For all Benidorm's metropolitan character there's a huge common park covering a huge swathe of the coastline just nearby. Inside the space of minutes you can leave sky-scraping towers behind for sky-scraping cliffs.
