Designed by Sir Christopher Wren to recognize the Great Fire of London has been inviting visitors for over 300 years. Today, you can climb 311 steps to the highest point of this historic milestone (worked in 1677) to take in spectacular views of London. As acknowledgment of such accomplishment every visitor to The Monument receives an authentication as evidence of their athletic abilities! Albeit Lilliputian by the present standards, the Monument overshadowed London when it was fabricated! Moving up the section's 311 spiral steps still provides incredible views thanks to its focal area.
