On the first floor of the Brunelleschi order is the entry to the Laurentian Library which houses what should be considered the most significant and esteemed collection of antique books in Italy. It includes the most enduring social legacy which the Medici family has passed down to the consideration, care and profound respect of any kind of family down the line. The assortment had its beginning in the humanistic interests of Cosimo the Elder and his participation of the Academy of Roberto de' Rossi. There followed his kinship with Niccoló Niccoli with whom he shared an energy for gathering antiquated compositions of crafted by old style creators.
