Largo di Torre Argentina, a busy transport centre is situated in the sunken Area Sacra. These ruins, among the oldest in the city, are figured to be the place where Julius Caesar was killed in 44 BC and, while untouchable to humans, are home to a flourishing stray feline populace and a volunteer-run feline sanctuary. On the piazza's western flank stands Teatro Argentina, Rome's head theater. But it’s deriving from Argentatoratum, Johannes Burckardt, and the hometown of a papal master of ceremonies, whose fifteenth century palace surrounded much of the covering area.
