A rich garden overlooking Roman domes and rooftops, the Orange Garden (Giardino degli Aranci) was before an old fortress and now offers some of the best all encompassing views of Rome. Brimming with orange trees, there are numerous benches and grassy areas to unwind on and escape the bustle of the city. Legend says that Saint Dominic planted a single harsh orange tree in the yard of the close by Basilica di Santa Sabina in 1200 AD. It is said to be the first orange tree in the entire of Italy, and today the gardens have a pleasant orange smell from the groups of numerous trees.
